I'm having lots of trouble with FP 2002 and uploading to
my server. I've heard that I just use FP as an HTML editor
and upload with an ftp program?

So do I just move my web pages to a new directory and not
open as a web? Do I have to do anything else?

Thanks,
Susan

Does the remote server have the FP extensions installed?
If so, have you used FTP to upload?
What error message are you getting?

Susan,

You can either do a File Publish and specify your web site
www.xyz.com, or use something like WS_FTP and specify the
location of your web site on your hard drive, something
like c:\my documents\my webs\myweb1

I'm a rookie too and have had no problems with either
method. The File Publish is a much simpler way to do it.

However if the server has the FP extensions, then FTP should not be use as
that tends to corrupt the extensions, which then stop the site from being
accessed via FP, as well as any FP run-time components will not work, until
the host has re-installed the extensions.

It appears your web site has the FrontPage Extensions which FTP will ruin /
break. The site www.perimenopausesupport.com is running Apache/1.3.27
(Unix) FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 on Linux.

This may not help, but you must call a tech at your server
site and tell them to install FP extensions. They will
know what to do.
