You can only save movies as .MSWMM but if I want to use the movies in
anything else (such as on the web, inserting them into Frontpage) they cannot
be used as they aren't the right filetype. Is there any way at all to save
them as a different file type? I have tried just typing the .avi etc onto the
ends but it still doesn't work.

==================================
Try the following steps:

File / Save Movie File / My Computer / Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location / Next /
Show More Choices / Other Settings / open
the drop window and choose...DV-AVI / Next /
wait while the movie is saved / Finish.

As far as I know, the file type is chosen when you capture the video.
Altering the file extension doesn't change file format. There may be
utility software to do file conversions but I don't know of them.

Oops, wrong answer this time Awelch. :-)
MSWMM is the extension of the project file only. This is not a video file.
The steps outlined by John Inzer is the correct answer. Or you can simply
hit CTRL+P and follow the prompts.
