I was having a similar problem the other day. It was due
to the fact that I was trying to perform an aggregate
function on a calculated control.

Is your Rating control truly a field in the form's
underlying recordsource or is it a calculated control? If
it's a calculated control, Access can't handle this
situation.

Yes the Rating is from the underlying query and is not a calculated value on
the form...the odd thing about this is when i create a new
table and form to test in a blank database it works fine. This makes me
think maybe theres something wrong with my Database, i have ran Compact and
repair but it makes no difference.

The second odd thing i have noticed is when i run a different form which has
a subform in it that has many summary fields within it and then re-run the
Ratings form the Summary shows up fine.

Hi All

I am using Access2k on Win 2k, i want to put a summary of the fields in the
details section of my form. For example i have a field called Rating, u
would think all i need to do is add a text box in the Form Footer section
with the following syntax =Sum([Rating]).

I have done this many times before and never had any problems with showing a
form summary, but for some reason i am unable to do it here. The Form
properties are set to modal and pop up = true and as far as i can tel i have
not done anything different to what i normally do.

Can anyone tel me why it is not working

Many Thanks In Advance

Ash
