Help with error message concerning System.Data.IDbCommand

I posted this error a while back, I am still having the same problem. I tried
to bump it to the top, but it didn't come up... so I am re-posting.

I inherited an app. from a developer who
recently left. We have been using the HP Ipaq h5500 pda's without a problem.
Recently, one of our salesman picked up an HP Ipaq h6300 pda, when I deploy
our app. onto this pda I get this error.
"
Could not load type
System.Data.IDbCommand from
assembly System.Data
"

I would suggest (re)installing CF SP2 on to this device.

When I re-install Compact Framework SP2 on the device, I see this message...

"The program you have installed may not display properly because it was
designed for a previous version of Windows Mobile Software"

Basically it means application's UI might be incompatible with landscape
video mode on your PPC 2003 SE.
Since CF has no UI, you can safely ignore this warning.

After re-installing the CF SP2 on the device I still get the same error.

Could this have something to do with my development SDK being out of sync
with the current version of the Compact Framework? I installed the Compact
Framework SP2 on my computer, but the dll files that I am referencing come
from...

'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
2003\CompactFrameworkSDK\v1.0.5000\Windows CE\System.Data.dll'

No, that's normal. There are no new API in SP and strong name is the same
so you do not need to update VS, only device is updated.

Can you run the same app on emulator? If you click on
\windows\cgacutil.exe, which version is shown?
Can you see all file GAC_*.dll in \windows, including System.Data with
version? Which one?
Can you hard reset this device and try again? You should be able to back it
up and restore after you done.
Also, do you have System.Data.Common.Dll installed on your device? It comes
with SQL Client or SQL CE.
