I have an external USB hard disk that I use for periodic manual backups of my
operating system and data. I have C:, D: and E: partitions on the primary disk
and F: and G: partitions on the backup disk. My CD and DVD roms are M: and
N:. For the first few months everything proceded routinely. Then recently
I've noticed my system is calling the backup partions H: and I: instead of F:
and G:. I've had no problems with backup since I do it manually, but I'm
wondering why the drive letters had suddenly changed and nothing is named F and
G anymore, without me doing anything that I can think of, I've added no new
hardware in months. Any ideas why it might have re-lettered my partitions on
the second disk? I guess I could rename the partitions F: and G:, and see what
happens.
