I started out looking for help with my computer and DLL files on another
forum, and in the process, I cleared away hundreds of infected files in my
computer. However, I am still having problems with the DLL files.
Here is some of the discussion on my other topic:
Post 1:
My family has had this PC for around 2 years or so. Despite our Zone Alarm
Firewall, our computer's had some trouble in the past with a couple viruses,
adware, spyware, etc. Norton Antivirus did manage to delete most of the
problems, though.
However, recently our computer has started slowing down drastically. Our
subscription to Norton Antivirus and the Norton Antivirus file itself became
corrupt, so we had to unistall and reinstall it. The computer even started
reinstalling Windows Front Page 2002, so I suppose that something corrupted
it, also.
I clicked for more information on the notification Norton gave us about the
corrupt file, and one of the things that was listed as a possible cause of
the problem was a "Trojan Horse." I am unfamiliar with exactly what Trojan
Horses are capable of, but I know their general purpose is the same as
viruses. After reinstalling Norton, however, the scan of the computer
revealed only 1 adware threat. No Trojan Horse. Perhaps Norton is not capable
of detecting Trojan Horses?
Ever since that day, a message box appears almost every time we attempt to
run a file, enter AIM, or just at random times when the computer is not
active. The message box contains the following notice:
"msmsgs.exe- Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\Windows\System32\wbem\wbemprox.dll is not a valid
Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."
Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do to resolve this problem?
The people on the other forum suggested I download some antivirus software,
so I did. It didn't fix the DLL problem, but it did delete some nasty malware
and other things. Here is my second and third posts:
Thanks for the help. I installed that stuff, and it found around 500
infected files. It deleted all but 7, and quarantined those.
However, I am still getting the same message about the "Bad Image". The
message can be found in its intirity in my previous post.
The message seems to be saying that something is missing or corrupt, at
least to me. Then again, I have never been great with computers, so I could
be totally wrong. Is it possible that one of the infected files I had on my
computer deleted something, or corrupted something, on my computer? I am
really confused as to why this message is still appearing so often.
I found a link to something that promises to fix problem with your
PC(specifically DLL problems). Can anyone confirm if it is legit or not? Here
it is:

Okay, that's everything. I am really hoping someone can help me and verify
that e-mail adress, or give me some advice. Thanks in advance.
