I need help setting up a direct cable connection between
two computers. When I do the setup wizard, under advanced
connections, I can't choose direct connection, only
incoming. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

.
Your using the wrong kind of cable. Your using a
regular networking cable that you bught over the
counter. Go to a computer store a small one, and tell
them them what you are doing. They can make you the
proper cable for about 30 dollars. I found it easier and
cheaper to go witha networking hub.

$30 !!!
Whoa !!!

I assume that you mean a Direct Cable Connection using parallel ports.

After clicking "Set up an advanced connection", click "Accept incoming
connections" and tell it to use Direct Parallel (LPT1).
