Here's my problem:

Until some days ago, I used to share the internet access, provided by a

DSL modem on a XP box, to a very old laptop with win98. All via direct
cable connection. I browsed at 1.5k/sec, but, well, that was enough for

that old pc.

I've just bought a DSL router and I am not able to give the laptop
internet access anymore.

I mean, I have a router 192.168.1.1, an XP 192.168.1.2 and a Win98
connected to the XP machine via direct cable connection. Is there any
way letting me access the net?

Thanks a million in advance,
Fabio

Why don't you connect the laptop to the router?

I finally succeeded! I didn't have to use ICS. I only had to create a
direct serial cable VPN connection. Thanks to it I cold be on the same
network as the pc and the router and could access it to browse the web
:)
