Chris

I want to backup my information on another computer
(server). I created a share on the backup machine named
backup. I created a DFS share name backup, added the two
machines, and started the custom file replication service
naming the first server to point to the second. But
nothing happens. No data is being backuped or syncronized
on the second server. Does anyone have any thoughts? Any
input is appreciated.

Eh, Rightclick the DFS link and click Replication Policy.
There you need to enable the replication and set 1
replica master.

Check it out

Thanks for responding. I had done that. I set up a custom
replication so I could choose from server to server. When
I click show replication it says enabled, but nothing is
happening. I even configured it to start immediately, but
still nothing. I am at a loss.

you could try to stop and start the File Replication
Service etc.

I goolged a bit for you but there is to much information.

I read somewhere that the SYSTEM account needs to have
full control on shares of NTFS permissions in order to
replicate.

Im not sure how this reflects on your specific situation.
