Hello, i'm trying to learn how to use my laptop (with Win 2000) to control
the desktop in the kitchen (with Win XP Home). I just recently set up a
wireless network nd I can access the internet fine, but trying to get the
file sharing and printer sharing to work smooth is proving to be quite a
task!! What I was hoping to do was the following: I want to lay on the
couch and use my laptop to work and play in the kitchen computer. I tried
instlling the remote desktop program, that comes on the XP disc, and it
installed ok but it won't connect to the XP computer. am I on the right
track here or am I talking out of my butt??

I'd appreciate it if there is someone out there that can give me a hand....I
would greatly appreciate it!!!! If you need more information let me know. I
didn't want to get too carried away with information overload on the first
question.

Thanks for any help!!!!

The Remote Desktop program requires Windows XP Professional
as a host machine. Since you run WinXP Home on your kitchen PC,
you cannot use it. Have a look at something like WinVNC.
