help with desk top andtask bar

Hi,
I had to reinstall xp home edition on my Dell computer.
After updating windows and getting all my programs back.
I have a problem that I can not remember how to fix.

I go to Start- All Programs--The next bar with all the programs are
only on 1 menu. I have to scroll up or down to see the program choices
that are available. There are over 50 programs only on one menu.

How do I get it to open another menus so that I can see programs
across the desk top on multiple menus?

Here you go:

Start
Settings
Taskbar and start menu
Start Menu tab
Classic Start menu
Customize button
The third from the bottom on the Advanced Start menu options,
uncheck Scroll Programs

I also have Use Personalized Menus unchecked but I forgot why....

That is under both Start Meny and Classic Start Menu. Make sure both are
unchecked.
