When I tried to reinstall XP, the install program failed with a blue
screen error "UMOUNTABLE something." I then noticed the partition table
was corrupted. I tried fixing with "EDITPART" and verified the
partitions with "FINDPART." There are multiple partitions on this disk.

The problem is: XP still thinks there's only one partition that takes up
the entire disk (160GB).

I can boot LINUX from LILO that I installed some months ago. But once
booted, LINUX also sees only a single partition. Does LILO go by
partitions or cylinders/sectors on the drive?

I also tried fdisk but it only sees a single 8GB C: partition (that's
the correct size).

What seems to be the problem? Please help!

TIA.

You could do:

findpart all fp.txt

and show us the output.
