I am wanting to use conditional formatting for the
following scenario:
* If the employee number is for one person, then that row
would be shaded in one color.
* If the employee number is for another person, then that
row would be shaded in another color.
* This would go on for each different employee in the
database.

By the way, I am using Excel 2000. The number of
employees in this database is at 14 but I would like to
have the option to expand this if needed.

I'm wondering if this is even possible. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cindy!

It looks like what you are after is tagging / highlighting of unique /
duplicates. Pay a visit to:

highlighting, tagging, replacing, counting unique...

general questions and narrowing down what you are looking for.
