Thank you! I made the change and that fixed the problem. I am a little
concerned how that setting might have become changed. Any ideas? Anything
I might need to be concerned about?

ridgerunner?

Yes, you need update the path in that location. That ought to fix the
problem.

I just checked the registry and found:

MyComputer\HKEY_LOCAL
MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocFolderPaths

Name: ridgerunner Type: REG_SZ Data: C:\Documents and Setting\Local
Service\My Documents

All the other entries have their name in place of "Local Service".

Would I be safe in changing "Local Service" to "ridgerunner" for the name
ridgerunner?

I have no idea how this happened or how to fix it.

I always open my files by going to My Computer and clicking on the folder
named with my name. The folder pointed to C:\Documents and Settings\My
Name\My documents. Now, this folder points to C:\Documents and
Setting\Local Service\My Documents, which is empty. I tried doing a system
restore to fix the problem and after trying 3 restore points,
unsuccessfully, I gave up on that idea.

Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

Not sure, if it will work but you can try:

1. Right-click on My Documents available on your Desktop and choose Properties
2. Check the path. If it is not what you want then click Restore Default. If
that either doesn't work then click the Move button and browse for the exact
location.

Hope this help, let us know!

Thank you for the reply. I checked the path as you suggested and it is set
properly. I just ran a Norton virus scan and nothing showed up.

You're welcome. No idea what changed that, though.
