This may not be the proper forum but I'm not sure where else to seek
assistance. I can't find help from the Black Ice KB so maybe someone here
can either point me in another direction or help.
I'm using Black Ice v3.6.ccd which is the latest version with the latest
update on a Win2k box with MSIE v.6 all updates current. The issue is that
every single time I visit hotmail.com I get a Microsoft Win ASN.1 library
buffer overflow error.
http://www.iss.net/security_center/reference/2120013.html
OK fine I understand there is a M$oft patch to fix that.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS04-007.asp So I
download, apply, reboot and make sure in Add/Remove that the patch is indeed
applied.
I return to hotmail and keep getting the Black Ice ASN.1 library buffer
overflow error *despite* the patch. This is the 2nd alert generated by
Black Ice *despite* the appropriate M$oft patch applied for the issue. The
1st one was this http://www.iss.net/security_center/reference/2002555.html
All M$oft patches have been applied *successfully* yet Black Ice still
generates these alerts. Does anyone have any idea why or can you point me
in the direction of a Black Ice forum? The only one I found was where
German was spoken which doesn't help me.
