using ipconfig /release results in the following message: "All
adapters bound to DHCP do not have DHCP addresses."
I've tried everything I can think of and everything I've found on the
net... I've uninstalled the TCP/IP and network drivers and
reinstalled. Did a little whack-a-mo on the registry, but nothing
changes...
I'm certain that my network card, cable and router (DHCP server) are
all okay, because I can dual boot this machine and everything work
fine from Win 98SE. Also, if I go to my Network and Dial-up
Connections, disabled the Local Area Connection and then re-enable it,
the proper IP address and a sundry settings are set correctly!
It's as if there is a timing problem on boot-up where the DHCP Client
doesn't wait long enough for a response from the DHCP Server... does
anyone know of a timeout setting?
Thanks In Advance,
-Charles
P.S. I'm running Win2K will all of the latest patches.
