Jamie

I have recently purchased a DVD RW,when I installed it
Windows XP detected two DVD drives (a DVD RW and a DVD
Drive)the DVD RW Drive works fine but the other drive just
sits there taking up a drive letter doing nothing !

I also have a CD RW in the same system but this works
fine !

I have tried un-installing both drives and rebooting but
exactly the same happens ?

Any ideas

Hi,

See if you have any drivers provided by the manufacturer. Try loading the
drivers provided by manufacturer. I doubt it may be because of the driver
conflict between CD-RW & DVD-RW. Try installing DVD first and then CD-RW
later. If you explain about the hardware configuration (model details of
drives etc) you are using it will be helpful.

See if you have multiple device drivers installed in Device Manager under
DVD/CD-ROM Drives.

Reply back with more details it will help solve the issue faster.
