As I press Ctrl-Alt-Del to start the Windows Task Manager,
all I get is a blank page, without any menu. Is there any
easy way to fix this, so that I can view the menu and select
from the Task Manager ? Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi

Try double clicking the edge of the Task manager.

Double clicking the edge did not work. I happen to
remember kellys-korner, and got some help from
there. Thank you so much.

After registry cleaning, the double clicking the edge of
Task Manager is displaying/hiding the menu.
Thank you so much.

Glad your problem is solved.

Another good reason not to use generic registry cleaners. They often do more
damage than good, and are generally unnecessary in an XP system.

Good to hear you fixed your problem ... if you know how to use the registry
.... it's not a major problem to fix.

As far as the mention that 'generally unnecessary in an XP system' on
registry cleaners. Don't know where that came from.

I've had more problems in Windows XP with registry errors that previous
Windows Systems. I have a predominately Windows XP Pro system, no Betas,
all Patches and constantly have seen problems where CLSIDs are not cleanuped
up correctly when installing software (Microsoft), typelibs left around,
file extensions left behind, entries not removed when uninstalling, ....

On another system, with Windows Media Player 11, they delivered a modified
audiodev.dll file, and removed the Portable Media Devices icon, causing me
to fudge the DefaultIcon setting manually in the registry to fix it.

Windows XP Registry is just as unforgiven as previous. Still love it, but
let's not over glorify it.

Oh yeah, Peace and Love!
