I have a brand new computer at work and just installed
WordPerfect and it won't read the font folder, nor will
Wordpad or Office. All it shows in the drop down menu is
device font 10cpi, 12cpi and 17cpi. Does anyone know how
to fix this problem? I have reinstalled all my programs
and it hasn't helped, need this for work, any help
appreciated.

Have you tried restoring the machine to a point before all of this happened?

Check the attributes for your font folder: Open Windows Explorer with the
focus on the Windows folder. Use View> Details. Then View> Choose Details
and elect to show the attributes. Scroll down to the Fonts folder and click
to highlight it. You should see the system attribute (s) listed. If not,
open a command prompt window. Change to the Windows folder. Then type:
attrib +s fonts

Alternatively, use the "Repair Font Folder" option in TweakUI for XP.
TweakUI is one of the Power toys for XP. This version is *only* for XP with
SP1:

If you do not have SP1, the earlier version of TweakUI can be found at
