Help! Windows Easy Transfer crashes!

I'm trying to use Windows Easy Transfer to move some files from my older
Windows XP SP2 laptop to a new Vista laptop (using the Belkin Easy Transfer
cable -- though I also tried using the program over a wireless network and it
still crashed). It begins just fine on both computers, but when I finish
selecting the folders I want to transfer (on the XP computer) and click the
button to start, the program on the XP computer crashes almost immediately.
I'm completely stumped -- is there anything I can do?
 
I am having the exact same problem!! I select all my files I want then click
transfer and it imediately says error and needs to shut down easy transfer.
Getting very frustrated.
