Help wanted for canoscan 3000 back end.

Hi,
I am trying to write a SANE backend for a canoscan 3000 but according to
my
searches it seems nobody managed to find out the real reference of its
controller, it is supposed to be a GL660+GL646 according the SANE database
but it is not sure. I opened my scanner and I discovered that the metal
panel above the scanner board cannot be removed without destroying the
scanner.
So, I looking for people who have an unused or broken canonscan 3000 whom
could have a look for me.

By the way if there are some experienced people in writing usb programs or
related tasks any piece of advice would be welcome either.
I would be grateful for any help.

I know you said Canon, have you had a look at the Mustek site, I can'
give you the link as this was long ago, they had loads of backen
drivers for download

I discovered thet site when I had trouble with my Trust scanner whic
is same as Musteks, turned out to be the TA lead that plugs in th
base unit
