hey,

Here is the situation....i installed w2k pro on top of WinXP pro. Never did
the partition stuff b4, so did not expect the fact that w2k pro is gonna
write its on boot.ini and i wont' be able to access the WinXp anymore. The
format on my 80 HD looks like this

|------------------------------------------------------------80gig
HD----------------------------------------|
Before w2k pro:

---------------10gig-------------|-------------rest----------------
-------------------------------------------
WinXP pro | Data
|
-------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------

After w2k pro:

-------20gig-------------------
|---------------10gig----------------|-------------rest---------------------
---
win2k pro | Winxp
pro | Data
|
|
-------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------

I read some where, the proper way to install w2k pro on top of winXP is to
copy the "ntldr" and "netdetect.com" out of WinXP and paste it in the w2k
pro...IS THIS THE RIGHT WAY TO GO??

If yes, then my question is that i did't copy these two files from teh WinXP
installed on my PC; however, can i just copy these two files from the WinXP
CD and then paste it??
Or there is some sort of disk addresses written about "boot" record in
"ntldr" and "netdetect.com" files and just copying them out of WinXP won't
solve the issue....??? is there any soln

thanx in advance:)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

You are correct: Copy ntdetect.com and ntldr from
your WinXP CD to C:\. There is no issue with respect
to "addresses" etc.
