Help, Vista won't start

Ok, now I realise I shouldn't have skipped the "do you want to create a
rescue disk option" however I did and now the PC won't boot.
I now get a big screen saying there has been a serious error, If I start up
with the Vista DVD in I get the same screen, safe mode doesn't work. There
seems to be no way to start the system. Any ideas?

if you boot to the dvd and still get that, youre hosed.
are you sure youre actually booting to the dvd?? maybe you think you are but
youre not? check your bios

bios set to boot cd drive first. It asks about booting from cd but then get
the other screen right away. At least I backed up all my data to another
drive. Is very annoying as now have to load XP then Vista upgrade.

when it asks to boot to disc maybe youre not being fast enough and hitting a
key?

no, won't start the Vista DVD, have tried a linux CD and starts no problem. I
did a full system backup. how do I restore this without first restoring Vista?

Grant:
I haven't seen that message when installing Vista. What did you
install that gave you the "do you want to create a rescue disk option"? If
you can give more details, someone should be able to give you a direction or
cure. Have a great day.

think you misundertsood the original message. I installed Vista OK and it has
been working ok, however I didn't create a rescue disk.

Now when starting I get "windows failed to start. A recent hardware or
software change might be the cause"

1. insert windows install disk and restart etc etc

File \windows\system32\winload.exe

status oxc000000e

info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is
missing or corrupt.
-----------------

If I put the Vista install disk and press enter when it says Boor from CD? I
get the same error. It accepts the "boot from CD" prompt as the disk spins
up.
I can't get past this point.

If I press enter it then goes to the boot manager screen saying choose an
operating system to start, if I press F8 to select an advanced option it just
goes back to the previous error message.
