My OS is Windows XP Pro. The computer has been upgraded with the latest
hardware available last December. It performed perfectly until now.

The computer will boot up, but will not respond AT ALL to any clicks on the
desktop icons. It will not respond to Start to show option to shut down
either. I have to turn the power off to shut it down.

I booted up three times and shut it down three times, but the fault
persists.

I remember reading of others having the same problem in the past. What was
the solution?

I am sending this from my very old stand by.

Windows 98! lol

Are you sure the mouse works? Try it on another machine.

Does the keyboard navigation work?

Have you tried both the left and right buttons on the mouse?

And this is a PS/2 mouse...correct?

Good luck...let us know.

Have a nice week...

Trent

What do you call a smart blonde?
A golden retriever.

All the latest hardware? That must be hundreds of printers, sound
cards, video cards, motherboards, etc. How did you fit all the
cards/mainboards into the case? How big a room did it take to get all
those printers/scanners/cameras/webcams/etc to fit?
