help uninstalling ie6

i'm trying to uninstall internet explorer 6 from my
computer b/c it is incompatible with my cd burning
software. when i go to the control panel/add,remove
programs and i try to uninstall it, it only allows me to
add a component or fix ie6. i want to get rid of ie6 and
get back to ie5.5, and i can't reinstall 5.5 until i get
rid of 6. if anybody can help i'd appreciate it.

there is an internet explorer extermination program from light pc. do a
search on the internet. I think it removes 99% of the files. it worked for
me.

The easiest way to remove IE 6 (and free if you still
have your installation disk) is:

Insert installation disk (assuming its XP you're running)

you get an option to add or remove windows components.

Uncheck Internet Explorer in the options list and hit
apply... and thats all you need to do
