Hello,

An associate was given a complex catalog FP site on a disc with hundreds
of product images in it. He evidently published to a Linux server and
it worked fine for 2 years.

When he left, another guy was asked to make some changes to the site. He
obviously didn't know FP (which I also don't know too well) and has
stuffed it up so that whilst most of it still works, some Hover buttons
have gone links don't work and a couple of dynamic images things do not
work.

His brief was only to change some images and links on some pages and to
remove some links to other pages.

The guy who owns the site now wants to add another full catalog site to
this, and this is how I have found out about it all.

I am now left with this and am trying to salvage it and do what was
asked of the other guy, who by the way has also gone from here.

What is the best way from me to tackle this please?

I have FP 2002

Thanks

Apologies - but you should hire a consultant. Otherwise it's going to be a
double stuffed site.

Such things are not for learning curves.

Thank you Andrew, I know what your saying however I have been lucky
enough to find the original FP site on a disc.

I have just removed, added and done what the first guy should have done.
It does work as a web on my XP HD.

Now I would like to know this please..

As he wants another full web on the same site, I have created a new
index page in DreamWeaver which will link to both webs on site.

Can this new index file be a stand alone file with links to the 2 webs.

I will be adding extensions to the Linux site after I clean it out of
everything then publish the 2 webs.

Finally, how is it best to publish these 2 webs. Publish one to one
directory, then Publish another to a different directory?

Thank you for your time and obvious expertise.

If the 2 sites and new index page are somehow to be related
(and both to be at the same level)

Create a New empty Disc based web in FP (say C:\MySite)
In that web create 2 subwebs (say catalogsite1 & catalogsite2)
- create 2 folders in Folder list under the root and right click each to convert to web
Open your existing Disc based web in FP and File Publish it to one of the subwebs (say C:\MySitecatalogsite1) by browsing to it
File import your new index page into the rootweb and adjust the links to be to the home page of each subweb
Double click either subweb to work in it
When you publish your root make sure you include the option to include subwebs
- or publish each subweb individually
