help to decrypt my files

my situation is like this...

1. i am using winxp pro sp1.
2. i got 2 harddrives... 1 is store my os and 1 is
storing my files
2. my harddrive is formatted as ntfs format
3. i encrypt a files at 2nd drive
4. i format the 1st drive.
5. i install back winxp pro sp1 to 1st drive back
6. i cannot open the 2nd drive's files.
7. help!

Terry;
Are you on a domain?
Did you back up the necessary files to decrypt the data?
If no, the data is most likely gone for good.
