I am trying to re-install the drivers for a Sprint PCS phone, and when
I put the installer CD in the drive, the installer trys to run, then I
get the error message: TCP/IP protocol not installed, then the manual
gives instructions on how to install it, but the instructsion appear
to be for W95 and W98, as when I try their instructions:

From Control Panel, click on Add/Remove Programs, a window with the
following tabs is supposed to open:

Add/Remove programs Properties

Then I am supposed to select COMMUNICATIONS

Then I am supposed to installl DIAL UP NETWORKING

However, it's already installed, as I am using Dial up to connect to a
local provider as well as having a high speed LAN.

Can anyone help on how to get this thing to work with W2000?

Thanks,

Jim

That should be a clue to you that the driver and application involved are
not W2K compliant. Furthermore, W2K doesn't have DUN, it uses RAS instead.
This is relevent since DUN is at least partly 16 bit code anyways.

With the model number for your phone, you might be able to locate W2K driver
for the device. Just search for the phone model string at www.google.com or
contact sprint for compatible drivers.
