Help..system cleanup-all files gone

HELP......
Ran XP system cleanup and when it finished system system would not
reboot..... black screen asking for DLL files. Moved HDD to another system,
all folders are there but no files in any of the folders. Even most of the
windows folders are empty. System32 empty except for 2 folders, but they are
empty also. Lost many photos that can't be replaced.
What happen..? Is there anything I can do to get recover my files.
System info:
PIII 1gig 512meg, Asus MB(CULS2) 1 60gig maxtor, 1 40gig maxtor, DVDROM,
DVDR +-RW, XP sp1, sp2 not installed.

You can try,at starting computer,tap the F8 key,select either,start in last
good
configuration,or safe-mode,enter as administrator.If you cant get that far,
enter BIOS,insert xp cd,select,boot priority (or similiar) set the cdrom as
1st
boot device,exit and save,boot to xp cd,then at info page select,install xp,
select,repair this copy.In repair,you'll only loose all xp updates.
