Something is causing the windows XP Pro (SP1 & most updates with the
exception of the .net framework))help & support to load upon boot.
In the lower right hand side of the task bar where the clock is - At boot, I
see a small hardware icon with a red "x" over it and the task manager shows
that "Rundll.exe" is running.
MSconfig shows something that says
"Dumprep 0 -k which I have unchecked and the location is identified as
%systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k.
I have checked the startup folder, msconfig, the registry "run", "run once"
in hkey_current_ user and hkey_local_machine
all to no avail.
When I right click on the little icon that shows up at boot - the help &
support center opens and starts collecting the software info configuration
then it stops at about 16% and says "No such interface supported".
The system "appears" to work ok but something is awry and I hope someone
here can help me get rid of this annoyance.
I have even tried turning on & off the help & support service in the
administrative tools/services section in control panel.
Ideas?
Thanks
