This just happened to my Win2K work laptop, and it's got me frantic!!!

All of a sudden, while my mouse moves fine and normal to the top and left side of the
screen, if I try to move my mouse to the right, or the bottom, of the screen, the mouse
cursor stays in the middle while the entire desktop screen scrolls and then wraps to the
opposite side of the screen!!!.

So, if I try to move the mouse to the right, the entire desktop scrolls and the left
side of the screen is wrapped to the right side. If I move to the bottom of the screen,
the desktop scrolls to show the top of the screen - along with a bunch of tiny tiny
windows icons.

HELP!!!

Sounds like hardware failure and or driver corruption. I'd start with the
graphics adapter and pointing devices.

I reinstalled the video adapter drivers and that appears to have fixed it!!!

THANKS, Dave!
