Hi

I'm fairly new to Win 2000 problem solving, I recently
installed Zone Alarm Pro, tried uninstalling Norton
Antivirus which wouldn't, found strange 'Hard Porn' entry
in Install/Uninstall and clicked on uninstall, all in
Safe Mode. When I tried restarting normally the PC hangs
after filling about half the blocks on Starting 2000 Pro -
no more hard drive activity - nothing apart from the
wavy blue line. Safe Mode works fine, I am reluctant to
choose Last Known Good Configuration (Profile 1) as I
don't know what this will do to any recently installed
files etc.

My question - where do I go from here to discover what is
causing Win 2000 Pro to hang?

Thanks in advance

David

Check Event Viewer and Device Manager for errors and or non-starting
devices. LKG is mostly for device drivers and services. Check the symantec
site for a registry removal tool for your product.

Many thanks for your reply, have also downloaded
ntdetect.chk which I believe may also assist me.
