Hi

I have a Dell laptop with WinXp Prof. I have bought a PCMCIA adapter to read
Compact Flash and IBM Microdrive cards. I have found that transfer is always
around 1Mb and processor at 100% (I have 2GHz P4). The funny thing about
this that using Usb2.0 adapter I am getting much bigger speeds. I have tried
to different adapters and different cards and I have always get very similar
results.
I think that the problematic part of the system is the "PCMCIA IDE\ATAPI
Controller" written by Microsoft.

Does somebody knows how I could solve this problem? Maybe be there is a 3-rd
party driver which I could use to replace Microsoft default driver?

Best regards

There is something very wrong with your machine or (let's hope) just the adapter.
If it were a desktop with add-on cardbus adapter, it would be understandable,
but not with a built-in cardbus and XP...
Try the following:
1. See if your CF works good in the other pcmcia slot.
2. See if your CF works good in another notebook
3. Get another PCMCIA adapter (not the cheapest you can find)
