Help! Scheduled Backups fail

Running XP home. I've installed the backup utility and can manually backup
my files to another computer on my network. However, when I've schedule
that identical task that I run manually, it attempts the backup and then
fails with a message saying it cannot access the file I'm trying to write
to. It's implication is that the computer (to which I am writing) is not up
or that my network is down.

However, I can turn around and run that same task manually again with no
problems. It's only when the scheduled backup tries to run that it fails.

I've run the tweak on Kelleys corner
(http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm) line 67 so that I can do the
backup without a password.

I used to have this working. Then the drive died and I reinstalled
everything. Obviously I'm missing a piece of the puzzle.

Thanks in advance.

Still hoping for a response to this one. Here's some additional info....
The error I get when the backup fails is:

"Windows was unable to save all the data for file
\\larry\c\backup_curley\alldocsandfavs.bkf. The data has been lost. This
error may be cause by a failure of your computer hardware or a network
connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere."

Also, once the backup fails (as above), if I try a manual backup and tell it
to append to the exiting file I get another error: "The requested file
(alldocsandfavs.bkf) does not appear to be a bkf file. Do you want to
overwrite it?"

When I get that error, if I choose to overwrite the file, the backup
proceeds without any problems.

So, not only is the scheduled backup failing, it is ALSO corrupting the
backup file!

Does anyone have a clue as to what I might be doing wrong?

Many thanks!
