Every time I open a workbook -make no changes - just look - I am asked if I
want to save the changes. When I am flipping through patient workbooks to be
sure, for instance, a date change was made (checking 25 to 50 at a time) -
just looking - I can not close it untill it is resaved. Please tell me there
is a way to stop this!!

It will prompt you to save if the workbook contains volatile functions, such
as NOW() or TODAY().

You don't need to resave, as you can close the book answering "No" to the
question as to whether you want to save.

David, thank you for the reply - but there are no volatile functions in these
workbooks - I do answer no to the question - my comlaint is that I have to
take the time to do that for every workbook when I am processing 50 at a time
- I just want to be able to "look and close". The other computers on site do
not have this problem and all the computers are all running Vista with Office
2007.

Perhaps your workbook refers to other workbook(s), and whenever you open it
refreshes the information and that's why it prompts you to save. When you
open it does it asks you to update?

Alex, it does not ask me to update - only asks me if I want to save. This is
just crazy - ever ask yourself "why me?" - non of the other computers have
this problem. I think my Computer Angel is sitting on the beach in St.
Croix!!
