I recently loaded an application which appears to have
changed my Internet Explorer 6 program in some way which
has rendered Internet Explorer non-functional.
The program I loaded actually worked the way it said it was
supposed to, for about 10 days. Then, one day, I booted up
my system, and got an error message from it. The message
claimed it would not harm my computer, or any of my other
applications; however, it did throw a couple more menu
items into the Internet Explorer Tools menu. I uninstalled
the application, but the menu items specific to that
application remained in the tools menu.
I have still been able to go on line, using Compuserve;
however, I find that I can no longer download my antivirus
Live Updates. Even though my system indicates that on line
access is through Compuserve, it appears that my antivirus
live update defaults through Internet Explorer.
It sounds to me like I need to get my Internet Explorer 6
back the way it was before I installed the new program.
Can anyone help me do that? Thank you for your help.
