Hi There,

Could anybody help me.

It might be basic but maybe its not.
My computer keeps dialling out the whole time even when the computer is not
being used.
I cant see nothing on the startup or anything like that.

Could someone give me some suggestions then..

Thanks in advance
Paul

You probably have some kind of spyware which has been clandestinely add to
your computer. A lot of companies and hackers access your computer without
your knowledge and put cookies or some other such software on

There are two things that might help. There is a free program called spybot
which removes a lot of spyware and there is a pretty good firewall program
called Zone Alarm. Both have free versions and you can down load them. The
fire wall program asks you if you want something to access your computer or
internet.

Hope this gets you started a little more on privacy

Hi there

Thanks for the info guys but I have tried all this options...Got Spybot and
used this and Im using BlackICE Defender as a Firewall but its still
happening.

Any more help would be great.

Paul,
If Internet Explorer opens on start-up, it may be set to 'dial whenever a
network connection is not present'.
Try disabling it by right clicking the IE icon on the desktop, click
'properties', click the 'connections' tab and choose another option. 'Apply'
and 'ok' it.
If you recently signed up to an ISP or something new, they may have a
'signup' or registration page which opens in IE.
Check in start > run then type msconfig, click 'run' . On the panel that
opens, click the start up tab. Untick anything that says 'register now' or
'signup' for instance. Click 'apply' and 'ok'.
It may be Outlook Express is set to check for mail every so often, and
that'll use the Internet Explorer connection setup too.
Hope this helps,
Chek
