Since I download Microsoft AntispywareBeta I have had problems with my laptop.
I tried to uninstall the Antispyware but it will not allow me to do so.
The uninstall option is not working. What can be done to get this off of my
computer.
The system restore option also wouldn't allow it to be restored to a date
before I installed the Microsoft Antispyware

error message says: can't uninstall because the computer is in safemode or
there's a problem with the windows installer
a)I'm not in safemode

b) I redownloaded window installer, that didn't help.

I tried to download The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility . but the same
error message occured.

thanks

Hi AmericanCanyon;
Sounds like something is deliberately interfering with your un-install, perhaps
malware, perhaps not. Give this a try. Do a clean boot making sure you start
the Windows Installer as described in this knowledge base article (for XP,
search Ms for other OS), then attempt your un-install. Let us know how that
goes for you. Are you up-to-date with Windows Updates? How about a full deep
Anti-virus scan?

See my reply to "Jim" 12-14-2005, I had the same problem, and found a
solution that worked. This is truly BS from MS I guess....Basically al
registry edits to do with "MSAS" must be deleted, then manually remove all
traces from prog files, add remove progs, etc. Easy search and delete tool
mentioned in the above ref. reply to "jim"...
