Hi,

I have a Z11 with a colour cartridge. I downloaded the system driver for
Windows XP from Lexmark and the test page printed reasonably okay.

However when I load up a black ink cartridge I get white horizontal lines
through the printed text.

I have selected the correct cartridge in the driver, I have done the
alignment (which looks fine) and cleaned the nozzles several times from
software(the diagonal line looks fine). I have even changed the black ink
cartridge.

But each time I do a Windows test print I get the white lines!

When I do the hardware test I get a solid black bar printed.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It sounds like the printer circuitboard is starting to fail since you
put in a new cartridge and it acts like clogged nozzles..

Ive owned a z11 forever and constantly refilled it and got a long life
out of a printhead.. that was a several years ago...

Not to be a wiseguy or anything, but the best fix would be a canon "I"
series model which would be close to the cost of 2 new lexmark
cartridges.... It would be worth every penny and more. Especially
when it holds nearly 3 times the ink and the cost of refilling the
complete set yourself is about 3 dollars in good quality ink.
