Hi all,
I'm having a problem with re-installing from a W2K Pro upgrade disk (after a
couple virus hits that messed up my machine).
When I start the re-install w/ the upgrade disk in the CD, it says it can't
verify a qualifying previous o/s and to insert a CD w/ W95, or 98, or NT
3.51 or 4. The original disk I upgraded over was an early promo version of
W2K, build 2130 or something and I probably threw out a year ago while
moving (apparently it wouldn't "qualify" anyway).
So, I inserted a legal registered W 95c CD. A message comes up saying it
can't read the CD, it's not NT 3.51 or 4, and to insert a W95, or 98, or NT
3.51 or 4 CD.
In other words, it says W95 is ok, then inplies it's not, then repeats
calling for it.
Questions:
1] does anybody know what's going on with this frustrating sequence of
commands???
2} if I buy an NT 4 oem CD, will the W2K upgrade disk function to allow a
re-install??
Thanks, Bill
