Help Pleeeease!

Hi,
I am a very new user, and am trying to find out how and
where to write, for example, recipes or any form of notes,
and then save them into a chosen folder. I have created
the folder, but for the life of me cannot suss how to
create the actual place to jot down the notes!

I have Notepad on my Launch Manager, but it does not save
anything to where I want it, so I guess I am not using it
correctly!!

Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

As you can see I really am a newbie!

When you use note pad select in the file menu "save as" instead of save now
when you get the box use the arrow in the drop down box to place the file in
the folder of your choice.
