"a runtime error has occurred do you wish to debug line 17 error
expected ')'"

Does anyone know why this happens. I did a google search and came up
with the suggestion to uninstall MS Office.

Is it a Microsoft problem or is it that web pages are not written correctly.

I also found a similar error mentioned at
http://www.axeuk.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000060.html

The error occurs for me @ this address http://fly.to/mdy

Thanks for any help

That is a javascript error that would be generated by a poorly written web page. Unfortunately poorly written web pages are not that uncommon. I would turn of java script debugging and error notification. In IE select Tools, Internet Options and go to the Advanced tab. Under Browsing check "Disable script debugging" and remove the check from "Display a notification about every script error."
