On some of my XPe units I can not update any date on the
hard disk. I can run the installation of a program with
out any problems. It runs as it shooed, but when I start
the new program it's the old program that starts. I can
even delete a folder and it reapers after a while. At
first I thought that it mite have bin system restore that
was messing with me but it wasn't even installed.

Does any body have any ideas??

Trond!

After a while, like after a restart?

If this is a case then you have EWF (Enhanced Write Filter) active.

Read more info about EWF how to disable and enable it.

Yes! After a while, and possibly after a restart!

But EWF installed in the Target Designer!

Can it still be EWF?

You misunderstood me.

That was a question.
But since you have EWF (most probably enabled).

You will need to disable it or commit changes with ewfmgr.exe

Slobodan

Sorry, But I've forgotten to write some words in the
middle of the sentence in my last reply!

I DO NOT have EWF installed in the target designer!
And I do not have ewfmgr.exe on my embedded devise!

I suppose this changes things a bit??
Do you know where I can get more info on EWF and other
things in XPe, other then in the help files?

Thanks
Trond

If you've previously had a build with EWF on that disk, it's possible for it
to be active for subsequent builds if you don't delete the EWF partition.

Hi Heidi,

He said:
I DO NOT have EWF installed in the target designer!
And I do not have ewfmgr.exe on my embedded devise!

Assuming that this is true for all his devices.
Even if he had previously created EWF partition it would be irrelevant.since
he said that there is no EWF driver in his current build.

Like I said in this case it is a "Twilight Zone".

Regards,
Slobodan

Yes, you assume correctly!

I have never used EWF. And it have never bin on my
embedded devices.

But it was a got try though.

Trond.
