"a runtime error has occurred do you wish to debug line 169 error
permission denied"

Does anyone know why this error in IE6 occurs. I did a google search and
came up with the suggestion to uninstall MS Office.

What is the reason for this message. Is it a Microsoft problem or is it
that web pages are not written correctly.

I also found http://www.axeuk.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000060.html

Many thanks for any help

Hi,

I had no problems with that link, so I suspect you will need to reinstall
Internet Explorer. Set the Control Panel/Folder Options/View tab to see
hidden and system files. Then locate the ie.inf file under C:\Windows\Inf
and right-click it, choose install to begin.

Thanks Rick, but that link was just to a message board where the problem
is mentioned. It works ok for me too. However this one doesn't, and
comes up with a different line number to the one i quoted:

Thanks once again

I just got the solution from Tom:

That is a javascript error that would be generated by a poorly written
web page. Unfortunately poorly written web pages are not that uncommon.
I would turn of java script debugging and error notification. In IE
select Tools, Internet Options and go to the Advanced tab. Under
Browsing check "Disable script debugging" and remove the check from
"Display a notification about every script error."
