Hi,
I wonder if anyone could help with 2 problems. Im having
alot of errors and want to re-install xp...but Im not
sure about making back ups..my xp came pre-
installed, though I now have an xp disc do i just put it
in and follow on screen instructions?..I mainly want to
back up my music files and msn etc,do I just save
programme files as they are all saved in there,or
individually?orC drive??
Also problem 2...I put in a CDRW...it said to plug it
into the spare IE(i think IE) socket, there wasnt a spare
one...so other than disconnecting the one that came with
the comp what do I do? If possible can anyone answer to
my mail,as im having alot of probs trying to get on sites
though i will try and check ere...sorry for the long long
post and thankyou in advance

For xp backup the best utility is the File Transfer Wizard, its sweet.
For IE,not sure but you might open device mgr and chk for problems,
or go to run,type:Msinfo32
Look for specific conflicts.

You need the program intallation discs to reinstall them
Data & music can be backed up to CDRW. Bear in mind that
if someone 'lent' you the copy of XP and it is installed
already on another PC, you won't be able to activate it.
The IE port is the IDE port. Make sure that the cable
coming from the Hrd Disk dsrive has a spare unused
connector on it. Set the CDRW jumper to Slave, and plug it
in with Pin 1 ( or red stripe on cable) neaxt to the power
inlet of the drive.
