Help Please

At the end of every line, all of a sudden I have one of these things that
looks like 2 vertical line with a line across the top, almost like pi. Does
anyone know how to make that go away? Thanks!

Is that is the Show All (visible in design view)
- turned on /off by [Ctrl][+] or the Show All Icon in the formatting tool bar
