Hello!...Im so sad because I have a new notebook and I made something really
stupid..I cannot realize how I did it without to think on it!...I was pulling
out the enamel for nails and then I saw that my pc had a stain under the
keyboard, so without to think I "cleaned it" with the cotton I had on my hand
and now the paint of my computer is ruined...Im in a foreign country and I
dont know where to go for help and neither what can I do for to repair this
mess. Thanks if someone can help me...can this to be painted again??

As long as everything still works on it don't worry about the blemishes (of
course I hope this is your system not a business system.) The cost of
having the "color" put back on the system would entail having a new computer
shell put on your hardware. Wouldn't be cheap but would have to be sent
back to the manufacturer to have it done at your cost as this isn't a
warranty item unless you have the no-fault type of warranty that you have to
pay extra for (Dell calls it CompleteCare.)

Sorry this is not a reply to your question, but to the title of thread. I
just signed in as a new member and want to post a question in a new thread
but have been unable to do so. Hence, "help please"

LOL. What is your issue. Post a new thread using something else than Help Please.

What you were using on your fingernails presumably some kind of chemical remover has
striped/removed the coating where you used the cotton to clean under the keyboard.
You may have to live with it. If you can't live with it, contact the manufacturer and see
if anything can be done - may be expensive.

You probbably think you're posting to a web-based forum, but actually you
are not. This is the microsoft.public.windowsxp.newusers *newsgroup*. The
reason you're having such problems is that you are using the web interface
to read this newsgroup--it's the slowest, clunkiest, most error-prone method
there is. Do yourself a favor and switch to a newsreader, such as Outlook
Express, which comes with Windows. See
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/outlookexpressnewreader.htm

My Bad. I understood it the other way. Sorry Lisa
