I am trying to set up networking at home bettween two computers one in the
basement is the host and the other is I guess they call guest. I am looking
for someone that is a trustworthly person and I do no it is very hard to find
such people in to-days World. I need help in setting up this network for my
kids. Please if there is an Honest good , Person who can help without taking
advantage of me I will allow remote conection to do this.
I am with sympatico.ca and am using the 118 something adaptor as it is the
only one bell canada will allow us to use. I have set up the host be cannot
figure out the guest.

Dave,

While I can understand your reasons for asking, I've got to be
honest with you. What you're suggesting is a terrible idea. Are
there honest people in the world? Absolutely! As a matter of
fact, the overwhelming majority of people who could help you
with this issue are honest. That's not the problem. The problem
is that the dishonest people look and sound just like them. How
are you supposed to tell the difference? The anonymity that the
internet offers makes your approach risky at best.

Instead of looking for someone to do the work for you, why not
post this question into a more appropriate newsgroup?

Discussions in Windows XP Networking and the Web
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...ft.public.windowsxp.network_web&lang=en&cr=US

You will find a number of individuals in that newsgroup who
will be able to walk you through setting up your network. If
you find someone who is willing to communicate with you
directly through a messaging program such as Windows Messenger,
great. Try to stay away from remote connections.

Also, never post a legitimate email address to a newsgroups.
Instead, follow these guidelines:

Good luck

Dave, (unfortunately) Nepatsfan is right. It's not a very good idea. Have u
tried doing it yourself yet? Nowadays using Windows XP it isn't that
difficult. There's also quite a good help file in Windows on this standard
procedures.

Bon chanche!!
