Help please!

My son's PC has AVG running. It's pulling up a virus called 7c930.exe in
his windows folder.
AVG will not remove it and I can't find any info on it on the net.

Any help would be appreciated!

Looks like a file name possibly generated by malware. What was the
malware name? Did you scan Windows in Safe mode? Try the Escan AV
Tookit Utility via my web site. While you're at it, d/l and install
Spybot and AdAware as well.

Start in DOS and delete it......

Or start in safe mode. Bear in mind that viruses with random names are
usually not the source of the problem. There is something else hiding that
runs at startup, or run by a remote command if someone on the outside has
unauthorized access, and copies the virus from another file that stores
it, hoping to go unseen by av scanners.
