I have a problem with formulas in Excel XP: they show in formula bar AND in cells (value of formula doesn't show in the cell). I guess it treats formula as text. Tried with different formatting (general, number), hiding formula and protecting sheet, CTRL + `(the only difference I can see is changed width of column when press CTRL+`), but nothing worked. Had a same problem on a PC with office 2003 that I was using only for a short period of time and never figured out what the problem was. My PC started doing this yesterday, and I'm way behind on my work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

Hi 00mm00,
I have a problem with formulas in Excel XP: they show in formula bar AND in cells (value of formula doesn't show in the cell). I guess it treats formula as text. Tried with different formatting (general, number), hiding formula and protecting sheet, CTRL + `(the only difference I can see is changed width of column when press CTRL+`), but nothing worked. My PC started doing this yesterday, and I'm way behind on my work.

After changing the cell format, press F2 followed by enter. That should force Excel to reconsider.
